Some of the Best Places To Visit In America

When it comes to America, it can be really hard to pinpoint exactly where to go, because of just how
extensive the country is, and just how many fantastic things there are to see and do there. No matter what state you visit, you’re certain to discover something exciting and fun to do, but to make your choice a little bit easier, we’ve put together a list of some of the best places to visit in America.

When you visit America, it is important to remember to fill out an ESTA application in order to gain access to the country, if you qualify as part of the visa waiver program. Alternatively, it is important to get a visa if you do not qualify for the waiver program, in order to have a hassle-free trip to enjoy some of these best places to visit in America.

New York
New York is a hugely iconic city in America, and a trip over to the country without a visit to the Big
Apple, would make your trip incomplete. Famous for featuring in a huge number of movies, having a
number of iconic sites such as the Empire State Building, Times Square and the Statue of Liberty, this
five borough city is one of the best in the world. If fashion, art, culture and cuisine are all of interest
to you, then New York should be a definite tick on your list.

As amazing as New York city is don't let your adventure to New York end there.  New York is also home to some of the most beautiful mountains and lakes in the world.  In fact, after all of my travels the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York remain one of my very favorite places on Earth!

Las Vegas
Las Vegas is probably the biggest gambling destination in the world, and this buzzing city is known for its bright lights, 24 hour casinos and for being able to have a taster of sites around the world without even leaving the city. Las Vegas is as exciting during the day as it is at night, and the endless amount of entertainment options will leave you grinning from ear to ear. It can even be a great spot with kids! Aside from casinos, there’s plenty of landmarks that you can catch such as the famous Bellagio fountains, the roof-top roller coaster and many more. Of course, if you want to hit the casinos too, it’s all a part of the Vegas experience, that no-one should miss out on.

Again don't stop at the city center when exploring.  Just a few hours from Vegas you will find some amazing natural landscapes and modern wonders such as the Hoover Dam.  Vegas is a lot of fun but don't forget about the surrounding areas where there are loads of day trip opportunities. Even our next spot could be coupled with a Vegas trip.

Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is a jaw-dropping location, which is a must on the best places to visit in America list. It can overwhelm your senses through its immense size, and its steep-sided canyon was carved by the Colorado River. No description of pictures can take into account the sheer size of the Grand Canyon, and aside from the sightseeing aspects, there’s plenty that you can do while you’re there.

You can jump on a tour, go white-water rafting in the river and even take part in a helicopter ride
over the canyon to really experience it.  But if you are short on time or money, driving the rim and doing some simple lookouts and trails around the top can be just as rewarding and most certainly just as breathtaking.

San Francisco
California is a fantastic state, and in particular the artsy city of San Francisco is worth a visit. It is well known for its hilly landscape, year-round fog and Golden Gate Bridge alongside the cable cars and colorful Victorian houses. You can visit Alcatraz Island, the notorious former prison and take
pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. There’s so much to experience in San Francisco, and the artsy culture and fantastic food is just the tip of the iceberg.

Obviously there are many more amazing spots in the US to visit.  Really one could spend 2 years touring around and not see all the amazing things in the country.  Hawaii is always at the top of my list but since I write so much about that already I thought a change of pace for this article would be best!
