Barcelona also boasts a cool nightlife highlighted by music and entertainment from dusk till dawn. Places to visit in Barcelona include museums, Palauet Casades Palace and Library, Park Güell, L’Aquarium Barcelona, FC Barcelona Stadium (Camp Nou) and the list goes on.

Aquitaine
Aquitaine is a region located in Southwest of France. The region is made up of beautiful cities and scenic countryside, and it is known for its fresh farm produce and special cuisine. And you can find beautiful rental properties across the Aquitaine region, many in very scenic and tranquil spots which are perfect for getting some rest and relaxation. Bordeaux is the capital of Aquitaine and is the largest city in the district. It is famous for its wine, so make sure to visit some vineyards and sample some different varieties.

Aquitaine is comprised of five areas, each with features to explore like beaches, forests, villages, castles and the countryside. Places to visit include Lascaux, Garonne, Biarritz, Bayonne, Arcachon, Medoc, Biscarosse, Capbreton and other places of interest.

Malta is a nation bustling with warmth and culture, history and architecture. There is always an adventure waiting to happen here, and there are several places to visit and many activities to engage fun-seekers. There is plenty of public transport available here as well, but it is limited through the night, so if you have a very late or early arrival or departure then the best option may be to arrange a taxi from Malta Airport.

If you prefer a quiet holiday, you should check out the Maltese island, Gozo. The island is peaceful and tranquil with beautiful countryside views, quiet beaches, and other attractions. Other Maltese towns you should visit include Valletta, Sliema, Rabat, Victoria, Paceville, Birgu and several others. Family vacations are synonymous with the creation of a lifetime of fantastic memories with the ones you love the most. You should ensure that you have properly researched the intended destination so that you will not be unpleasantly surprised. Also, if you are on a budget and searching for relatively cheap destinations, rest assured there are exciting getaways that do not cost a fortune.

Here are five-holiday destinations that are kid-friendly, so they are appropriate for both you and your kids to have the time of your life, and you don’t have to spend a fortune going there. The best part is that the research is already done for you!

1. Why Not Visit Costa Rica?
Prices are rather reasonable with convenient flights, and there are plenty of activities your kids will love. Popular sights include exotic birds and curious monkeys which are surrounded by brilliantly colored tropical vegetation while you calmly float along the Rio Savegre, Manuel Antonio, or the Rio Corobici, Guanacaste, with appropriate rafting company, of course.

Costa Rica is ideal for horseback riding so you may explore hidden waterfalls or gorgeous Manuel Antonio and Hermosa beaches. The level of skill per rider is matched to suitable horses by Tour Operators.

The Punta Uva is one of its most beautiful beaches, but Playa Tambor is ideal for swimming.

2. How About a Trip to Cuba?
Another reasonably priced trip is a visit Varadero Beach, Cuba, with its delightfully warm water and white sandy beach that implores you to walk for miles along its coast.

Havana is another family-friendly destination in Cuba worth experiencing as you time travel to a carefully reconstructed colonial era with its attractive colors.

Take a trip to Old Havana and visit the Catedral de San Cristóbal. Whilst here you can enjoy taking a stroll down El Malecón and savor the music of salsa and all-night parties.

Santa Clara is another activity-filled location in Cuba where you may get lost in Italian flavors of Saborearte or the Caribbean flavors of Hostal Florida Center.

A daytime visit to the colonial-styled Teatro La Caridad is a real treat when you take in dance performances.

The Mausoleo del Che Guevara is an impressive sight that is seen for miles. This statue is a significant part of history for Cubans, and it is about a 30-minute walk from the town center. Here are some interesting facts that you should know before you set off for Cuba.

3. Are You Interested in Visiting Malta?
If you have kids who are bored easily, you may want to consider visiting Gozo, Malta. You will get there quickly by plane and then via a delightful, but short ferry ride.

You all may visit the Rabat, which is a reinforced citadel overlooking the city, here you will find lots of shops that sell local souvenirs.

Perhaps, you will prefer diving in the shallow waters of Karwela to explore the shipwreck that is only 39 meters below the surface.

Or if you are a fan of Game of Thrones then you may enjoy exploring the filming locations, and see if you recognize them.

4. Shall We Consider Going to Greece?
Greece is considered a top holiday destination and it is not costly. And there are many child-friendly accommodation options in Greece so you won’t struggle to find somewhere with all the amenities you need.

You may want to relax at Rhodes east coast because of its 29-mile expanse of clean, golden sandy beaches and divinely warm water that is shallow, so very child-friendly.

If you love ancient history, visit prominent frescos that portray the bull-leaping sport in Crete that was popular between 3,000BC and 1,400BC.

Your kids will adore the Dikteon Cave where it is believed that Zeus was born and its array of stalagmites and stalactites. Zakynthos, Ionian Islands, is an excellent place for teenagers to socialize. The Peligoni Club presents unlimited activities for teenagers and their families.

If you are old-fashioned and on a small budget, Amorgos, Cyclades, is popular and picturesque with its natural mountainous magnificence.

5. Maybe Trinidad and Tobago?
The Emperor Valley Zoo is adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens and combined they present an all-day family activity. The zoo is home to a 30-year-old, 12-foot crocodile, white Bengal tigers and a lovable giant otter. The Botanic Gardens is the home to more than 700 trees and up to 13% are native to Trinidad and Tobago. The remainder is representative of countries around the world.

The Gasparee Caves allows you to descend as low as 100 feet below ground level and to experience the awe of limestone caves together with stalagmites and stalactites on one of Trinidad’s tiny islands: Gaspar Grande.

If you have a weakness for watersports, then this is the place for you. You can go stand-up paddleboarding, wakeboarding, and other exhilarating water sporting activities.

The Marianne River, Blanchisseuse, presents an easy walking experience that takes you to the 3 Pools. There are three deep pools scattered on the flat area of the steep rock shelf, and these pools are so shallow, that they are ideal for your kids to play in if you do not want them to go swimming.

Conclusion
Now that we have looked at some holiday destinations that are family-friendly, you should note that there are additional sites in the vicinity of those mentioned; so your options are not limited. Discuss and plan with your entire family. In this way, you are guaranteed that this will be one of your best vacations ever!

Caring for a baby – whether they’re new born or a little older – is hard work. So, shouldn’t you get away from it all and give those bleary eyes something rather nicer to look at than the pile of laundry you haven’t got round to doing yet? Here is a selection of baby-friendly beach holidays for you and your little one; pack your swimming costume, your sun cream and your baby-wearing sling (wearing a sling is often the easiest way to get your baby on and off the beach) and get ready to sink your toes into the sand…

Golden Beach, Crete (Greece)

Greece is a great place for families – not least for the wonderful weather and stunning scenery, but for the low prices and baby-friendly accommodation options too. If Crete (the largest of the Greek islands) takes your fancy, head to Golden Beach. Situated close to Chania (the second largest city in Crete – with a beautiful harbour if you fancy a gentle after- dinner stroll as a family), Golden Beach has plenty of amenities nearby for food and toilet breaks. The sand is soft so it’s the perfect place to introduce your baby to a new sensation, and the waters are shallow – making them lovely and warm if you fancy dipping your little one’s feet into the twinkling blue sea.

Plage de Kervillen la Trinité-sur- Mer, Brittany (France)
Given that it’s relatively close to home, Brittany is always popular with tourists heading over from the UK and Ireland. It’s home to beautiful beaches with memorable sand dunes, and la Plage de Kervillen la Trinité-sur- Mer is no exception. In fact, the sand dunes shelter the beach from strong winds, making it the perfect place for holiday makers travelling with little ones. And, it’s serviced by bars, restaurants, toilet facilities and a shower, so you’ll have everything you need close to hand. There’s a car park too, so you’ll get there easily and be able to nip back to your car for anything you don’t fancy taking onto the beach.

Praia do Anção, Faro (Portugal)
The Algarve is a popular holiday destination for holidaymakers of all types, and it’s a great choice for those travelling with very little ones. That’s due to the fact it’s sunny most of the year but doesn’t feel too hot owing to the refreshing winds from the Atlantic Ocean. So, you won’t find yourself with a fussy, sweaty baby. (Still, you’ll doubtless want to keep them in the shade and make sure they’re smothered in sun cream anyway!).

Praia do Anção is very well looked after, with well-maintained boardwalks leading the way to the sandy beach. The nearby restaurants are a little pricey as it’s quite an exclusive area, but the beach is exquisitely clean and the deluxe sun beds are a real treat too. As well as touristy beaches with amenities, you’ll find plenty of hidden coves in this part of Portugal if you’d like to get away from the crowds and relax in peace. And, there are gentle rural walks you can do with your little one secured safely to your body if you fancy some scenic cliff walks.

Es Grau (Menorca)
Less than ten miles away from Mahón, the capital of Menorca, Es Grau is definitely a beach to consider if you fancy heading to Spain. The beach is very shallow here, making it a destination that’s ideal for toddlers and young children – and it’s even popular with teenagers doing a spot of snorkelling or paddle boarding around the bay. Still, there’s plenty of room for you and your baby to splash about, with warm water stretching out at shin level for 40 metres.

Just next door is the S’Albufera des Grau nature reserve with short walking routes, so there’s lots of wildlife and foliage if you fancy an amble around the nature reserve once you’ve had enough of the beach (just beware that it’s unlikely to be pram-friendly, so you’ll need to carry your little one). And, there are restaurants right beside the sea, so you won’t need to go for to get a bite to eat.

Ramla l-Hamra, Gozo (Malta)

If you fancy a beach with just enough in the way of facilities to accommodate for a baby, but not so many that it becomes a bit of a honey-trap for tourists, head to Ramla Bay in Malta. You’ll find a stretch of silky yellow sand fringed with green trees, and dark blue waters as far as the eye can see – and that’s about all, except for a couple of quiet bars, some toilet facilities, a shower and a café. And perhaps the ice cream van, if you’re lucky. It’s the perfect place for truly winding down and spending some precious quality time together, listening to little more than the sound of the waves on the shore.

Do any of these beaches take your fancy? Wherever you decide to go, do some research before you jet off to see if it has the kind of facilities you need for your and your little one.

For all the Game of Thrones fans out there – this one’s for you!

Game of Thrones is one of, if not the most, famous television fantasy dramas of recent times. Based on the books by George R.R Martin, Game of Thrones has captivated a huge worldwide audience.

Apart from being hooked on the gripping story lines and characters, we couldn’t help but notice the stunning scenery that appears in the show. Filming has taken place in many parts of the world, but what caught our attention was some of Europe’s most beautiful locations, many of which are Mediterranean cruise destinations.

So today we bring you our Cruise Guide to Game of Thrones locations and where to visit them.

The King’s Landing - Mdina, Malta

Mdina, the former capital of Malta, is a medieval walled city, constructed by the Knights of Malta in
the second half of the 16th century. Mdina is also known as ‘The Silent Town’, due to heavy restrictions on the use of motorized vehicles within its walls.

This historic stone city was the backdrop to the King’s Landing during the show’s first season. The
King’s Landing, the official seat of the Kings of Westeros, is an important location. It’s featured in many episodes and the King’s Landing is where many characters meet – it’s the place to be if you want in on secrets, hidden agendas, and devious plots.

You might also recognize Mdina Gate as being the location of the King Landing’s Gate – this is where Catelyn and Ser Rodrik Cassel ride through to investigate the attack on Bran.

Best Cruise Port: Valletta, Malta
A Mediterranean cruise that visits La Valletta, Malta, provides the perfect chance to visit beautiful
Mdina. Here you can choose between a number of shore excursions to Mdina, such as the Valletta and Mdina half-day tour, or the Rabat, Mosta and Mdina half-day tour.

Dubrovnik - Croatia
From season two on wards, all the scenes in the King’s Landing were shot in Dubrovnik, Croatia – and we can understand why. Dubrovnik’s beautiful old town, surrounded by thick stonewalls, is located on a peninsula surrounded by a dramatic stone cliff – if you watch GOT then you’ll understand why this is perfect.

The House of the Undying, the site of the season two finale, is actually the Minceta Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site along the above-mentioned walls of Dubrovnik. A fortification as well, it was an important defense tower facing the land, symbolizing how unconquerable the city was.

Best Cruise Port: Dubrovnik, Croatia

Diocletian’s Place - Split Croatia
You may recognize inside Diocletian’s Place in Split from the fifth season of Game of Thrones. Within these stonewalls lie many filming locations including Daenerys’ throne room and the streets of Meereen. Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this palace complex holds many mysteries!

Best Cruise Port: Split, Croatia

The Wall and Land Beyond the Wall - Thingvellir National Park, Iceland

A filming location from season four on wards, Thingvellir National Park is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site (we can see a slight trend here!). Arguably this is one of the most famous locations in the entire series, ‘The Wall and the Land Beyond The Wall’ is located in Iceland. This is where the scenes of Jon Snow’s adventures in the Night’s Watch are filmed.
Aside from breathtaking filming locations, you can also find the rare ‘Dragonglass’ in Iceland –Obsidian a piece of cooled lava, is used in the series to mimic the precious resource.

Best Cruise Port: Reykjavik
Look for a cruise that offers a stunning Northern Europe program, with an overnight stay in Reykjavik in their 2016 Summer Season. Cruise Liners offer full-day shore excursion, such as ‘The Golden Circle’; first stop is Thingvellir National Park! Cruise guests can experience one of the most outstanding sceneries in Iceland; a vast lava plain of green moss and wildflowers. Icelanders actually regard this site as a sacred place and the world’s oldest legislative parliament was founded here.
‘Beyond the Wall’ - Myvatn Iceland

The Myvatn area may look familiar to you – this is because it is none other than the location of the
Beyond the Wall scenes in season three. It’s an area near Akureyri, a popular port of call for cruises,
and the largest town north of Iceland. This is where almost 300 cast and crew were based while filming season three.

Best Cruise Port: Akureyri
Cruises with Northern Europe itineraries include none other than Akureyri, where you can take shore
excursions such as the full-day ‘Beauty and Landscapes of the North’. Here you can visit the unique
scenery of surreal volcanic fields and magical cascading waterfalls that keep us captivated during Game of Thrones.

For those wanting to visit the Myvatn area, the half-day ‘Myvatn Nature Baths’ is the one to choose.
During this onshore excursion, you can literally immerse yourself in the scenery as you take a relaxing dip in the clouds of steam that rise from a fissure deep in the earth’s surface. Never fear, upon your return to Akureyri, you’ll have a photo opportunity, stopping at the Godafoss cascade.

The Water Gardens of Dome - Seville, Spain

Originally built as a wedding gift for Daenerys Stormbom’s namesake, the Water Gardens are adorned with lush gardens and lavish waterworks. Debuting during the fifth season, it is one of the few places where highborn and lowborn children can play as equals.

You can find these gardens in the Alcazar de Sevilla, an ancient medieval fortress built by Moorish
craftsmen – and surprise, surprise, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to the 12th
century, this historical site has withstood many wars, throughout countless centuries.

Best Cruise Port: Cadiz
Opt for the ‘Seville’ shore excursion on your Mediterranean Cruise, and you’ll visit this beautiful royal palace as well as some of Seville’s other impressive landmarks. The Alcazar is Seville’s biggest tourist attraction, but that doesn’t stop the cast and crew from shutting half of it down to film scenes set in Dorne!
